Josh Branchaud

Josh gets much of his software engineering acumen from his time in Computer Science academia. Though he can still be found reading the occasional research paper or textbook, he loves the world of building and delivering software that people can experience right away. He is fascinated by programming languages and is always interested in exploring new ones. Of particular interest to Josh is Elixir and its companion web framework, Phoenix.

When Josh isn't at a keyboard optimizing keystrokes in Vim, he can be found hugging his wife, Erin, his cats, or all three at once. He also enjoys shooting photography, sharking pool, and playing sports.

Open Source Projects

  • fourohfour.vim Lookup HTTP status codes without leaving Vim

  • rails-sql-migrations.vim I built this for all my friends at Hashrocket so that they never again have to manually type out the up and down methods with their respective heredocs. This plugin requires and works with the rails.vim plugin to provide a set of file commands for creating and opening SQL migrations.

  • Today I Learned A collection of concise write-ups on small things I learn day to day across a variety of languages and technologies.
